Ashok Sawhney is The Chairman of Global Swiss brand ‘Swiss military’ & also chairman of All Free, Vridhashram, “Sawhney Foundation.” Was born in “Bhera”, on 1st July 1938.

You start adrift holding on for your life to that one log they define as a life saver – material subsistence. Mr Ashok Sawhney’s journey transcended from the material to the spiritual through his efforts. Persevering initially for personal gain and comfort and with growing wisdom for mankind.

When he needed to provide which even the gods prescribe he did with dignity sheer determination and hard work. From a travelling salesman for a Swiss firm – Langendorf Watch company selling his wares zealously in 26 nations he moved on to being the pioneer in wrist watch dial manufacturing in India. A true patriot this was his contribution to import substitution way back in 1968.

From one factory he excelled and nurtured 5 and with over a 1000 people became the largest wrist watch dial manufacturer in the world in the early and late nineties. That back then was scaling Everest literally! Surmounting all odds in a never before attempted micron tolerance precision industry with practically no help no money and no background. Thus he has ever since lived with the epithet the father of the wrist watch dial industry in India. This foray by him later inspired many to venture into this very difficult field be it dials case or strap manufacturing.

Relentless in pursuit he ventured into creating ‘Swiss Military’ an international brand of world class men’s lifestyle products into a household name in first Korea and then in India. Intelligently crafted he used his logic and experience together with the Swiss principles to provide the masses with world class ‘affordable’ quality in Mens lifestyle products. To get to jaw dropping reasonable prices appealing to the masses he travelled to many nations in search of the right raw materials and items to bridge the gap between quality and affordability. Master class. It’s popularity now transcends genders cultures and communities in over 15 countries.

Relentless and with an unquenching urge for progress in the eighth decade of his milestone achieving career he has found yet another unique opportunity to manufacture RFID enabled e-seals in India. A venture never thought of before. A joint venture with M/S Shenyang Shining Fortune Container Seal Company Ltd of China to make quality e-seals in India. He is encouraging fresh entrepreneurs to promote sales of e-seals to enable them generate employment. His vision is to use technology to create products that facilitate good business practices, enhance productivity and profitability.

Parallelly he always moved and nurtured his soul against his bare mundane existence. The spiritual against the mortal. Imbibing the essence of all the Upanishads Veda’s and holy books.

5 years ago he established Sawhney Foundation a home for the destitute with free boarding lodging and food. A neat clean 3000 sq yard facility true to preserve the dignity of its inhabitants in every which way.

Recently he has joined hands with Aashirwad to open a branch for the education of the underprivileged special children,

who touched him so deeply that every time he mentions them his eyes go moist.

Udyog Patra Award – 2003 bestowed by the Indian Institute of Trade and Development

He was bestowed with a ‘Lifetime Achievement Awards’ by Trade Post and ‘Samay Bharti’, Asia’s leading Watch Journal in 2012.

Awarded the ‘Samay Ratna’ for his services as the President of All India Watch Association in 2013.

Honoured by the World Business Conclave- Hong Kong with ‘Globe Platinum Award’ for ‘Leader Par Excellence’ in the the ‘Global Leadership for Business Excellence’ category in 2016. Award was presented by Her Royal Excellency Dr. Mom LuangRajadarsiJayankura, Crown Princess of Thailand.

His creation ‘Swiss Military’ was awarded ‘Globe Platinum Award’ in the ‘Setting Trends beyond Generations’ category and termed as ‘Best Upcoming Brand in Asia’.

India CSR honoured him with ‘CSR Lifetime Achievement Award 2018’ for excellent service to the society and people of India during the CSR Leadership summit 2018.

He was bestowed ‘Adeeb International Award 2008’ in recognition of his distinctly qualitative services,
